Teddington to Hanwell

Left Teddington lock at 6.00 am for our trip on the tidal part of the Thames. At Richmond we pass through the sluice gates which are lowered two hours after high water to create an artificial depth and remain in place until two hours before the next high water, when you then have to use the lock. At Brentford we joined the Grand Union Canal.
